STAR PLAY

JULY — AUGUST 2021
produced by Dacha Theatre
touring parks in the Puget Sound area

created and directed by Kate Drummond
with Dacha Theatre

A wondrous, galaxy-sized adventure for all ages, STAR PLAY is a storybook romp through the night sky that follows Pleione, the seventh brightest Pleiades sister, as she charts a course through the Milky Way to save the red giant Betelgeuse from going supernova.

This clear-eyed and starry-skied play with music embraces the singular magic of space and the power of storytelling—all while connecting the dots on your favorite constellations (and some you probably haven’t heard of yet, as well). Sparkling brightly for audience members aged 1 to 100 light-years old, STAR PLAY was visible to stargazers and theatre lovers from parks all over the Puget Sound area.

STAR PLAY is another home run for Dacha — and with [Kate Drummond] at the helm, it’s hardly a surprise!

STAR PLAY was incredible! [...] I really appreciated the Taylor Swift puns, and the imagery of singing into a literal Void to cope with loss and death was beautiful.
