YARN: UNRAVELED

OCTOBER – NOVEMBER 2020
produced by Dacha Theatre
streamed to Twitch

a hybrid live performance
created and directed by Kate Drummond

Join Dacha's intrepid explorers as they unravel the Pacific Northwest's most prolific mysteries!
Your favorite rag-tag team of cryptid-hunters takes a deep dive into all things bugaboo in Yarn: Unraveled, a recurring webseries dead set on uncovering the world's greatest secrets... and handling the consequences!

Yarn: Unraveled included two pre-recorded episodes, streamed within live watch parties hosted by Yarn squad members Ash and Trystan. Audience members interacted via chat in real time as the episodes streamed, and logged on to the stream to play games with characters.
On Friday the 13th, Yarn: Unraveled recorded a very special live episode wherein things quickly went awry, as a larger-than-life cryptid attacked a squad member! Ah! With no time to lose and the fate of mankind in the balance, the audience scrambled to sift through Dr. Al’s extensive (and sometimes rambling) research to discover a solution and vanquish the Batsquatch.

Yarn was a very exciting show that never felt stale due to the refreshing nature of it’s format and storytelling. The show felt intimate and personal in some moments but also offered a unique and incredibly fun group experience as we all sat in our own homes. As the audience, we happily bounced from one moment to the next, with each moment offering new additions to the suspenseful story, ‘game’, opportunities to participate, world locations and characters. So fun!

”Yarn” was such a cool offering for a digital theatre age. I appreciated the flexibility I had to either watch live or view on my own time, and it felt like real tv that way! I loved the storyline aspect, and having reoccurring characters (as well as a mystery to solve!) was a great way to keep audiences invested over multiple episodes!
